Lexus, a British Shorthair cat, was referred to our clinic from another animal treatment center, where an ultrasound examination showed gas distension of the stomach and inhibited intestinal peristalsis.
The doctor admitting the cat ordered an abdominal X-ray. The examination revealed a foreign body. On the same day, surgery involving opening the abdominal cavity was performed. A chess pawn blocked at the cecocolic junction was removed.
The patient remained hospitalized for several days. The doctors assessed his condition as good, and Lexus can now return home.
