Spinal surgery in Laki

On January 5, 2023, eight-year-old Laki came to us. The patient had severe pain symptoms around the spine that almost prevented him from moving. In May 2021, he had undergone neurosurgical treatment at another veterinary facility. When Laki came to us, he characteristically dragged his pelvic limbs and had an arched back. He was treated pharmacologically and appropriate neurological, radiological and magnetic resonance examinations were performed. The examination was carried out on a high-field GE scanner and showed hypointense disc material in T2W and hyperintense material in MERGE at the Th13/L1 and L1/L2 levels in axial projection, compressing ventrally on the right side in the described area. In addition to the protrusion, hypertrophic changes after the previous neurosurgical procedure were also visualized.
