Veterinary otoscopy

Veterinary otoscopy is a diagnostic examination involving inspection of the external ear canal and tympanic membrane in animals using a specialist instrument – an otoscope. This procedure enables the veterinarian to accurately assess the anatomical structures of the ear, allowing rapid detection of inflammation, parasites, foreign bodies or proliferative lesions. It is a fundamental element of prevention and treatment of otological disorders, directly influencing patient comfort, treatment effectiveness and preservation of normal hearing.
