Hyperthyroidism - the most common endocrinopathy in cats
Hyperthyroidism is the most commonly diagnosed endocrinopathy in cats. It is most often caused by an adenoma or adenomatous hyperplasia of organ cells; only in a small percentage of cases (2-3%) is it caused by malignant proliferation. Although diagnosis of the condition is usually not a problem for the clinician, choosing the right treatment method and monitoring the patient can be more difficult.
